How Much Does It Cost to Post a Job on Indeed? (2026)
In the US, Indeed posts are free for up to three jobs a month; sponsoring costs a budget you set. Worked costs for three example roles, November 2026.

In the US, posting a job on Indeed is free for up to three jobs a month. Sponsoring one costs the budget you set, billed per click or per started application, and Indeed prints no sponsored-job rates.
We build Talent Summoner, which does not post jobs: it searches public profiles for people who fit your role, including people who never applied, and ranks them with the reasoning behind each match. Your first Role is free, with no card.
This page is for an employer costing out a role. If you hire hourly or local staff in volume, Indeed is probably the right tool, and the numbers below show what it takes.
How much does it cost to post a job on Indeed?
Indeed publishes its rules and its resume-search price, but no sponsored-job rates, so the click figures below are reported.
| Option | What you pay | What you get | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free post | $0, up to 3 jobs a month (US) | Visible up to 30 days, falling back as newer jobs are added | One or two roles a month |
| Sponsored Job (Standard or Premium) | A budget you set; the minimum is set per job at setup. Reported: $0.10 to $5 or more a click | More visibility; Premium appears more often in the top 3 results and adds candidate invites | Roles that need volume |
| Smart Sourcing (resume search) | $520 a month or $4,992 a year on Indeed's US page; 100 contacts, extra $5.20 | Search resumes and contact people | Hiring every week |
| Talent Summoner | Unlimited US$299 for 4 people (+US$59 each) or Pro US$59 a month for 10 Roles; or US$29 per Role; first Role free, no card | A ranked shortlist from LinkedIn, GitHub and other public sources, with reasons; you contact people yourself | Roles where the right people are not applying |
What does a free Indeed job post include?
Per Indeed's help pages, checked in November 2026 (US rules; Indeed applies the three-job limit in the US and 12 other countries):
- Three a month (US): the count resets on the first of each calendar month, and a duplicate post uses one of the three.
- 30 days: each free job shows in search for up to 30 days, then needs sponsoring to stay visible.
- Slides down: free listings fall back in results as new jobs are added.
- Some jobs must be sponsored: Indeed's pricing page says jobs pulled from an ATS or a data feed can be "sponsored only".
If a handful of applicants is enough, free is the right answer.
How does sponsored job pricing work?
You set a budget. Indeed recommends one from the job title, location and description, and you can go lower but not below that job's minimum.
Many guides still say sponsored jobs start at $5 a day. Indeed's own page says there is no universal $5 minimum: the minimum is generated for each post and shown at setup.
Depending on budget type and market, Indeed charges per click or per started application.
Indeed bills on the first of the month, or when your spend reaches $500, whichever comes first. New US accounts that post a job get a $75 sponsored-job credit, valid for one year.
What might one role cost on Indeed?
Indeed sets your price at setup, so these are our example budgets, not Indeed rates. The arithmetic is budget times days open.
Sources disagree on minimums: Truffle reports $25 a day and Pin $25 per job, while Indeed says there is no flat minimum. Our $10 to $20 budgets may sit under what Indeed shows you.
| Role | Example budget | Open for | Most you pay |
|---|---|---|---|
| Warehouse associate | $10 a day | 21 days | $210 |
| Office manager | $15 a day | 30 days | $450 |
| Senior backend engineer | $20 a day | 60 days | $1,200 |
Your real number depends on the minimum Indeed shows at setup. The senior row costs the most only because we gave it the longest run.
What does it cost to run 3 roles a year?
This assumes three office-manager-style roles, each sponsored at the $450 example above.
| Option | Year one | Later years | What the money buys |
|---|---|---|---|
| Indeed free posts only | $0 | $0 | Applicants who find the post before it slides |
| Indeed sponsored, 3 roles | up to $1,350 | up to $1,350 | Applicants who saw the ad and chose to apply |
| Talent Summoner, 3 Roles | US$33 | US$79 | A ranked shortlist for each role; outreach is your job |
Our arithmetic: year one is a free Role, then US$4, then US$29. Later years use the US$79 3-Role bundle.
These options buy different things. A post brings people who chose to apply, while a shortlist brings people who fit but may not be looking, and you still have to write to them.
When is Indeed worth it?
- High-volume or hourly roles: plenty of qualified people are actively job hunting.
- Local roles: a sponsored post puts you in front of people searching your area.
- Three roles a month or fewer (US): the free tier may be enough, so start there.
- No time for outreach: you can screen applicants but cannot write to people one by one.
In our view it is weaker for senior or niche roles, where the right people are often employed and not searching. For the same question on another platform, see LinkedIn job posting cost, ZipRecruiter cost and ZipRecruiter vs Indeed.
Where Talent Summoner fits
Candidate sourcing searches LinkedIn, GitHub and other public sources, over 200 million profiles, and ranks people against your must-haves and nice-to-haves. When you reach out, it drafts each message and sends it from your own Gmail, Outlook or LinkedIn after you review each message and confirm the send.
Prices as of 4 November 2026: Unlimited is US$299 a month for up to 4 people (US$59 per extra person) and Pro is US$59 a month for 10 Roles; unused Roles do not carry over. Or pay per Role: your first Role is free, then US$29 (pricing).
Trade-offs, stated plainly: no LinkedIn InMail, no always-on pipeline and no ATS integration today.
It is not a job board: it does not post jobs or collect applications. For the full cost of a hire, not just the ad, see cost per hire.
We checked these facts on 4 November 2026 and re-check them every quarter. Free-post and billing rules come from Indeed's pricing and help pages; click figures are reported by Pin and Truffle, and the Smart Sourcing price is from Indeed's US page.
